The UVM Medical Center has recently purchased the former Vermont State Laboratory building, located on 195 Colchester Avenue. The property is currently being used to facilitate field offices for the general contractors working on the bed tower and STEM facility. WLA is developing three options for the site, which range from retaining much of the buildings existing structural frame, while gutting the balance of the building to that of a complete demolition and building replacement on the site to facilitate approximately 21,000 SF of administrative offices and meetings spaces. The building is being designed as a core shell project with specific tenant fit-up program requirements to be determined at a later date. The building will be seeking LEED Gold Certification under version 4 of the BD+C. Our team includes Engineering Services of Vermont as the MEP/FP Engineer and PC Construction as the estimating consultant and Construction Manager for the project. Construction is to take place in 2018.
